"You are welcomed to visit the inspiring estate of Chateau Chantal. In our Tasting Room you will be embraced by our abiding aspiration to offer a degree of hospitality that harmonizes with the superiority of the scenery. In whichever direction you survey and with whomever you find yourself in the company of, you will leave with warm memories.

Our Tasting Room philosophy is increasingly unique. We genuinely prefer to engage all who arrive at our door primarily as guests rather than customers. We apply no charge to the sampling of any of our wines while being perfectly prepared to escort anyone around the place for free. We feel that our Chateau is innately your Chateau.

Regarding your general interest in wine and specific curiosity about the Grand Traverse region, our staff will indubitably prove to be an accommodating source of information.

There exists at our Tasting Bar a libation able to oblige most moods and all meals. The Tasting Room, also known as the Great Room, features the pleasuring presence of a grand piano and ample fireplace while through the windows, the seasonal quartet remains poetically presented.

Each and every time that you include us in your experience of the Old Mission Peninsula, whether you arrive sooner or later, we welcome you to join us and appreciate your visit."

- Bill, Tasting Room Manager

Chateau Chantal was established in 1983, when cherry orchards were replaced with grafted vinifera grape vines – the same species of wine grape grown along other parts of the 45th parallel in the Bordeaux region of France.

Acreage is planted with Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Noir, Gewurztraminer, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Pinot Meunier. Wine grapes thrive in the unique micro-climate characteristic of this enviable area of the State. Our handcrafted wines are produced under our winemaker's meticulous supervision from vineyard to bottle.
